Psychological treatment for children and adolescents
Child and adolescent therapy is a specialized approach that adapts to the emotional and psychological needs of the youngest. In our center, we understand that each child and adolescent goes through different stages of development, so we use specific techniques such as games, drawings, dolls, and other therapeutic tools to work on their emotional well-being.
Therapeutic Process for Children and Adolescents
1. First session with parents or caregivers
In the first consultation, we meet with the child’s family to gather key information about emotional and behavioral concerns. This session is essential to understand the family context and the reason for consultation, so it is important that adults come alone on this occasion.
2. Initial assessment with the child or adolescent
After collecting all the necessary information, an initial assessment is scheduled with the child or adolescent, in which we begin to identify their needs and develop an appropriate therapeutic plan.
3. Individual and family therapeutic sessions
The sessions focus on working with the child or adolescent, while parents and caregivers are cited periodically to receive feedback and recommendations on how to support the process from home. We also collaborate with the school if necessary.
4. Monitoring and evaluation of progress
When therapeutic goals have been achieved, sessions are gradually spaced out. We constantly monitor progress to assess improvements and determine when it is appropriate to give therapeutic discharge.
